Specialist in plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery

FAQ – Frequently asked questions in plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery

  • How do I find a specialist for plastic and aesthetic surgery?

Plastic and aesthetic surgery should only be performed by qualified specialists in plastic, aesthetic, and reconstructive surgery. This training, which lasts at least six years, builds on general medical training and is what distinguishes specialists from cosmetic surgeons – cosmetic surgeon is not an official qualification. Make sure your surgeon is a certified member of an official body such as the German Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (DGÄPC), the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAPS) or the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

  • How many lipoedema operations have you performed in the course of your career?

To date, I have performed more than 1,000 lipoedema surgery procedures. I have built up a wealth of experience and expertise in the field, which I am delighted to share both with future patients and with colleagues less experienced in the treatment of lipoedema.

  • Where will my surgery be performed?

The Meoclinic Berlin, conveniently located in the heart of the city, has everything you might need to help you feel comfortable and cared for throughout your stay. With five ward doctors on hand around the clock, you can relax knowing you’re in the best possible hands both during and after your procedure. Enjoy a relaxing clinic stay with a full range of amenities.
